Omega Business Park – Intumescent Fire Protection Works

Fire Tech Coatings UK Ltd were appointed to carry out intumescent fire protection works to structural steelwork at Omega Business Park, Blackburn. The project consisted of nine new-build industrial units, with all boundary steel pillars protected to achieve 60 minutes fire resistance. Due to the proximity of adjacent properties and cladding systems, all cladding was carefully masked and protected to prevent overspray during the application process. Works were carried out to steelwork at heights of up to 14 metres, using appropriate access equipment and strict health and safety controls. The intumescent coating system was applied using airless spray methods by trained operatives, with full quality control and dry film thickness monitoring throughout. All works were completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and relevant British Standards.
